Working out is not easy...falling off the bandwagon is easy. I have heard from a lot of people that my last Friday Fitspiration post helped them jump start their healthy lifestyle. I know that there are also a lot of people who began changing their life and then, for whatever reason, stopped. I wanted to share some more "fitspirational" quotes to keep everyone (including myself) going!
I hope these helped! Be on the look out for Louie's Losers!! Details coming very soon!! We're in this together!
Last night's New Music Spotlight was Justin Bieber's new single, "Boyfriend". I've been a big fan of Bieber for a while now and I gotta say I LOOOVE this song! I will admit that the lyrics during his rapping/whispering are a bit corny but his singing makes up for it! He has a more mature sound and he showed off his faltsetto which sounds great. Hear it for yourself:
There's so much going on in the entertainment world! Reality show eliminations, pranks, and babies!
Martina Navratilova and her partner, Toni Dovolani, were sent home on Dancing with the Stars.
Khloe Kardashian has quit PETA after Kim Kardashion was flour bombed!
Hilary Duff adjusting to motherhood tweets “4 am … Sleepy eyed. Feeding baby … whew this job is no joke!”
Justin Bieber could be facing legal action as a result of a Twitter prank gone wrong. He tweeted a phone number with the last digit missing with a message: "Call me now". Two Texas residents were bombarded with over 1,000 calls from Bieber Lovers. The Texas residents are seeking compensation for the problems they faced as a result of his prank.
Dennis Rodman is reportedly broke and "extremely sick" claiming that he is unable to pay back child support and spousal support payments.

I'm a sucker for cute nail designs! I'm quickly learning how to get a little creative and try some of the designs myself. A lot of the designs I see require different sized brushes and tools. Sometimes, it's not necessary to buy all the tools because you can make them yourself! Today I want to show you how to make a Dotting Tool to create cute polka dotted nails!
What you need:
small nail or push pin
pencil with eraser
Insert nail or pin into the center of the eraser.
Make sure it's straight.
Dip end of nail or pin in polish(I put a little polish on a plastic baggy and then dip).
Happy Monday (ehh..)! As you all know, I have a beauty product obsession! It's important for me to keep everything organized so I can find things when I need them and so I keep everything in good condition. Here's an easy way that I organize my makeup brushes:
As many of you know, I am the newbie of the Wild 104 family! You can hear me every weeknight from 5-10pm! Since I am still the new girl, I thought that maybe you guys would like to learn a little more about me instead of just hearing this new voice when you turn on your radio! I've also been wanting to start making some videos to post here as well. I've decided I'm going to combine the two and post my very first Vlog next week, answering your questions! Here's your chance to ask me anything!
Remember my concealer lip gloss tip?? Today, I'm going to show you just how versatile your makeup products can be! How about blush as lip color?! Sounds a little different but I LOVE the results and I'm sure you will feel the same! Here's how I do it:
Loose powder or mineral blush works best!
Sprinkle some blush into the blush cap.
Take any chapstick and dip the tip into the powder that you have put in the cap.
Get as much blush on the tip of the chapstick as you'd like(be careful not to put too much because you don't want it to look "cakey" on your lips).
TGIF and congrats on making it through another week! The warmer weather definitely helped make getting through the week a lot easier! Today I want to share with you what I'm currently reading! I'm always looking for some good reads so if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them in the comment box below or email me!
Here's what I'm reading (in no particular order):
1. The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
This book follows Gretchen's year long journey to becoming a happier person. No, she was not depressed by any means. She just knew that she could be appreciating things more and paying more attention to things that really matter and as a result, becoming a happier person. This is not in any way a self help book for those who are depressed. Instead, it's a book that has really helped me open my eyes to everything around me and the things that I can change to become even happier than I already am!
2. Super Rich: A Guide to Having it all by Russell Simmons
Let me clear something up right away, this book is not going to teach you how to get a mansion and five BMW's in your driveway! Instead this book takes you away from all of your materialistic wants and teaches you that "when you're Super Rich you'll be able to see that happiness is actually a state of needing nothing."
3. All You Magazine
Recently, I got really into couponing and money saving techniques (any couponers out there?!). I used to wrinkle my nose at coupons until I realized that coupons aren't for poor people, they're for smart people! When I started using coupons and finding other discounts I felt foolish that all of these years I've basically been throwing away my money while there was essentially free money right in front of me, that I was also throwing away! (I'll get into couoponing details another time!) All You magazine is full of coupons, recipes, money saving tips and tips on living a smoother, more organized life. My grandma bought be a subscription for Christmas and I have just been obsessed!
It seems like everyday I am hearing of a new celebrity fragrance. I have to admit that I am guilty of buying a couple of these fragrances here and there. The latest celebrity with an upcoming fragrance line is lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine. Well, his fellow Voice mentor, Christina Aguilera, has something to say about this. At one time, Levine was among those who get annoyed by celebrity fragrances. About a year ago Aguilera remembers him tweeting “I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward.” What is Aguilera's response to his new line of men and women fragrances called "222" ?! She tweeted to him "haha, what a difference a year makes". Great private eye work by Aguilera! She also wished him well as she is also guilty of her own fragrance. So, what are your thoughts on celebrity fragrances? Let me know in the comments below!
It's my favorite day of the week, Beauty Tip Tuesday! Today I'm going to focus on our hair since I haven't done so yet. I've mentioned before that I have an addiction to purchasing beauty products and that includes hair care products and tools. I'm constantly browsing YouTube for beauty tutorials and I realized that a lot of videos include the use of curling wands. For those of you who are not familiar with curling wands, they are curling irons without the clamp so you simply hold the ends of your hair and wrap your hair around the wand (as seen in the photo above). Since I have an addiction, I instantly wanted to run out and buy myself a wand of my own! I ended up resisting the urge when I realized I could make my own. Here's how I did it:
Use any size barrel curling iron you'd like.
Grab each side of the stand with your fingers and it will pull right off.
Remove screws on clamp from both sides using either a screwdriver or a small wrench.
Well, it's the start of another week! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I didn't do anything too exciting but I did get busy in the kitchen. Here's a little peek at what I whipped up...
Yummy green shake! Spinach, banana and peanut butter! It's a lot more delicious than it sounds and you can't taste the spinach at all!
On Sunday I made scrambled egg whites with sautéed spinach. I also added a banana with some peanut butter on the side.
For Sunday Dinner I made homemade Mac and Cheese with cornbread...the bread was straight from a box... but delish!
...and now the next 90 days are dedicated to this...maybe I'll post my progress pictures at the end!
If you made any delicious food over the weekend and like to take pictures like I do, please feel free to email them to me and maybe I'll share them here! Also, if you would like me to post any of the recipes from above you can email me requests as well! Have a great week!
Happy Friday! Since last week I shared some tips on jump starting your healthy journey, it only felt right that I give you a little fitspiration as well! We all need a little something to keep us going when we are feeling a little unmotivated! Here are some of my favorite quotes that keep me on track!
Ellen Degeneres is daring you! She is daring you to go to public places and dance! Sounds a little embarrassing, right? Well what if I told you that you have to dance behind people...without them noticing?! Now, that's REALLY going to take some courage! Ellen has gotten hundreds of videos of people dancing behind people in some very public places and someone right here in Binghamton has decided to take on the dare. This guy is one of the funniest and most fearless people I know and he just happens to be my little brother, Miguel. If you need a good laugh today then this video is for you! Sit back and watch as Miguel visits local businesses, dancing behind people while they don't have the slightest clue as to what's going on. Don't forget to share the video with friends and family via Facebook and Twitter too! Let's get Ellen to notice just how daring he is!
Oh, how I love Beauty Tip Tuesday! Since St Patrick's Day is right around the corner, I figured I would share a super easy St Patty's inspired nail tutorial! Here is how to make your nails look like mini Irish flags:
Start with clean nails and paint one coat of white nail polish.
You may do a second coat for a more solid look.
Let white polish dry completely.
Next, you will be cutting small strips of scotch tape like in the photo below. Keep in mind that the width of the tape will define the width of your "flag stripes".
Apply green paint to the left side of the tape, followed by orange paint to the right.
Let polish dry a bit before carefully removing the tape. You may have to experiment with this a bit to avoid smudging.
Finish with a clear coat and enjoy your cute little Irish Flag nails! :-)
This week I read an article about Binghamton's obesity rating second highest in the nation. I found this pretty disturbing but this article inspired today's post. A little over a year ago I decided to finally get in shape again. I was by no means obese but I wanted to feel healthy and comfortable in my own skin. I think pills and fad diets are for the birds so there was no way I was buying into that. I've managed to lose a significant amount of weight the healthy way and have kept it off by continuing to eat right and exercise. Losing weight isn't about starving yourself and depriving yourself of treats, you just need to be conscious of what you are putting into your body and what type of activity you are doing. I wanted to share a few tips that worked for me in jump starting my healthy lifestyle.
No soda! I have given up drinking soda on a regular basis but I will drink it at special occasions.
Drink lots of water! When I'm feeling a little hungry between meals I just continue to drink water (and maybe chew some gum!) If I know I'm going to eat soon, theres no need to load up on extra calories.
Don't eat just to eat! I stopped eating when I was bored! Make sure you're eating when you're hungry. I often stop and ask myself "Am I actually hungry or am I just bored?" I'm usually just bored...
Moderation is key! Ever hear the expression "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach"? When putting food on your plate, put smaller portions first. If you're still hungry after eating that portion and waiting about 15 minutes then consider getting seconds. If you load your plate up, you're more likely to force yourself to eat it even though your body was satisfied quite a few calories ago...
The most important thing...EXERCISE! Start simple with at least one hour workouts 3 times a week and REALLY work up a sweat! There's 168 hours in a week...what's 3 hours of hard work?!
I'm not a personal trainer or a nutritionist! These are just some things that worked for me during my journey! Feel free to email me your tips! Good Luck!
Justin Bieber turns 18 years old today! It's like we have literally watched him grow up right in front of our eyes! I've been a fan of him since he first debuted and have been a dedicated fan ever since.
